Late Position Pre-Flop Exercises

KH-KD

The pot has been raised and re-raised before it gets to you. What do you do?

Cap it. Raise that fourth bet. Yes, it's possible that someone has AA, but usually you'll have the best hand by far. You want to make sure the other players are aware of it, and you want to get as much money in the pot as possible.

7h-7c

Four players have limped to you. What do you do?

Call. It looks like you'll be able to see the flop for cheap here. And with a number of people in, chances are the pot is going to be very large. These are the perfect conditions to play a drawing hand (see PokerSavvy key concept: Drawing Hand).

TH-JH

An early-position player raised and four have called to you. What do you do?

Call. The early-position raise indicated that the player has a very strong hand, but with all these players in play, chances are this pot is going to be huge. But keep in mind that you need a lot of help from the flop. You very much want to flop a 4-flush or a 4-straight.
