We have detected that you are based in the United States. Unfortunately, due to the vague and uncertain legal and regulatory environment in the United States, PokerSavvy does not allow United States residents to sign up for SavvyPoints or rakeback offers at real money poker rooms. We regret that we need to do this and hope that the US government will soon clarify the law and create a framework that allows US-based poker players to play the game they love safely and openly. We encourage you to contact your Congressperson to express your view that poker is not, and should not, be illegal and we encourage you to support candidates at all levels that share that view.

In the meantime, we welcome you to check out PokerSavvy Plus, our poker training product that is fully accessible to United States residents. Thanks for your understanding.

This post is partly in response to Jay's recent tournament post. He reported that it was late and he was tired. He was down to 3 players in a live single table tournament.

Someone once asked me, "how do you teach psychology in poker?" I don't believe you can "teach" someone how to "read" or "mess" with other player's minds. Some people have a natural talent for this.

But I think the question about "teaching" psychology is flawed. A better question is "How do you LEARN psychology". And that is easy. You have to get accustomed to playing long sessions.

I talk with aspiring poker gods who play less than 2 times a week and have a hard time playing longer than 4 hours in a session.

Though being able to predict which move the opponents will take next is useful in a play, but I think it is nothing compared to being able to remember the cards as they are revealed one by one. The reason why Derren Victor Brown was reportedly band from casinos in Britain.
