The Best of the Rest

Cards Speak
In the tradition of Anthony Holden and Al Alvarez, our hero HDouble, a popular and prolific blogger from Los Angeles, records his trials and tribulations in the poker world. HDouble plays mid-high limits online and B&M in LA casinos. Lately he's been dabbling in the 15/30games on Party Poker and providing some especially colorful commentary on the matter. But dig into his archives and you'll also find him discussingpoker concepts such as Morton's Theorem and Abdul's Theory of Sucking Out. Highly recommended.

Up For Poker
"Up For Poker" is a collaborative blog written by seven witty poker players, including two twin brothers. The "Up For Poker" players offer an array of commentary on everything from poker celebrities to online play. CJ, the main contributor, is primarily a UB tournament player and gives plenty of interesting hand histories to wrap your poker noggin around.

Tao of Poker
NYC blogger and resident Phish-head Pauly is a blogger extraordinaire and his poker blog is just one small extension of his impresive body of online output. Pauly enjoys traveling around the country, chasing Phish, and playing hold'em at the nearest casino, and he writes engrossing trip reports about both experiences.

Felicia Lee
Felicia Lee is one of my personal favorites not only because of her fine writing skills but also her incredibly positive attitude: she's a self-professed student of the game and is unflappably encouraging, which explains her growing popularity. Felicia is from Golden Valley, Arizona, and plays tournaments and 10/20 in Laughlin, Nevada, and has a lot to say about the offline world of poker. Her posts to the Yahoo Group are well-worth the visit, but I especially recommend signing up for the list to receive her daily emails.

Mean Gene
Mean Gene's PokerBlog is full of commentary on poker pop culture as well as his bid for the 2004 presidency. Gene is a low-limit player on Party Poker and was confounded by PokerSavvy's Bad-Beat-o-Meter until Jay cleared it up for him:

How bad must a beat be to rate as "Just Nasty"? You bet your immortal soul with quads, lose to the straight flush, and the other guy wrecks your Porsche and screws your girlfriend? How bad is bad? We've all had our bad beats, what's the worst beat?
