For the last 2 years I have made instructional videos and written articles for PokerSavvy+. I've made
good relationships with the company, and thoroughly enjoyed both my work with
PokerSavvy, as well as the community that has supported me over this
time. However, the launch of my new TV show has opened up some new
promotional opportunities for me that make staying at PokerSavvy impossible
right now. As such, I’ve decided I need to move on to pursue those
opportunities.

Tonight is the premiere of the worlds first ever reality TV show about poker players. And what do you know? I am in it. Tonight at 9 on G4. If you are in Canada, g4tech is the channel. If you are in Europe or elsewhere, tune in on iTunes or xbox live next few days.

For the first time this morning in over two months, I woke up in my own bed in New York. It has been bizarre over the last seven days to not have a mic pack on my belt anymore. I feel a sense of withdrawal at the lack of cameras following me around all day around my house and around Vegas. This summer, my three friends and I truly entered another world for two months. We made a reality TV show.

A few days ago, I made a mistake in the $25k NL HU tournament on FTP in the opening round. A mistake which I should never make. There are many types of mistakes in poker, and I have made thousands of each in my life, surely. Making a poor read of someones range in a spot, of their timing, of their betsizing, or of their mindset. When I am trying to be creative, and testing out a play on someone when I am not sure it will work, and it fails, I rarely get upset.

I've been waiting to post about this for a little while now, but haven't actually been allowed to. The press releases came out today though, so here it is:

Before we talk poker, I hope everyone has seen this video:

Everything about it is perfect. The look of skepticism from the judges, the girl at 1:25 (who probably now feels like the biggest bitch in the world), Susan Boyle's total awkwardness and bizarre persona. It all adds up to just a great moment in time, which thankfully the internet allows us to cherish.

After this winter, I've started to get a little better at skiing. This is convenient, as I may have no choice but to take refuge in the mountains at some point in my lifetime: http://archives.cnn.com/2001/TECH/science/08/29/tidal.wave/index.html.
Cliff notes: A massive volcano eruption in the Canary Islands will cause the largest landslide ever, and thus cause the largest tsunami ever, wreaking havoc on North Africa, parts of Western Europe, and much of the Eastern coasts of the Americas. When? Some time between now and the next several hundred years.
Sucks for us.

The state of the NL poker economy is not dire, but it is certainly at its most bizarre state ever.
Game selection is at all time high level of nittiness. You simply hardly will ever see a reg playing another reg at any stakes between 2/4 and 200/400.
There is no such thing as 50/100, 100/200, 200/400 or 300/600. It just hardly ever exists anymore. There are the random hu matches that happen and the very occasional 6max games that run, but I'd be shocked if a total of 100k hands get played this year at all at those stakes on either full tilt or stars.

From now on, in an effort to improve my blogging, I MUST post a video or link to something in every post. It doesn't have to be related to my post, and it doesn't even have to be interesting. But if I don't, the first person to respond gets 100 dollars sent to them or their charity of choice.
