So I lasted 2 hands at my final table on Wednesday. First hand I open AJo from MP, get 3bet by ZeeJustin and lay it down. Second hand I open AKo, get 3bet by Erick Lindgren, stack off, and lose to QQ. I guess my chips were good luck, Erick won and ZJ got second. Its frustrating to have such a short stay after all the buildup, bright lights, and cameras, but going in with so few chips I wasn't really expecting anything else.

Gotta make this a short post so I can get to bed. I'm playing the final table of the 5k mixed LHE/NLHE event tomorrow. I'm 8th in chips of the remaining 9 with 115,500, which is about 1/3rd the average and will probably be something like 4 or 5 big bets in the limit level we're starting off at, so my hopes aren't too high for the bracelet, but its pretty cool to be starting off the series with a final table in a televised event. And who knows, maybe I'll luckbox a couple races and pull it out.

Its official. I just checked online, I've passed all of my classes and I'm done. It feels fucking great. In three days I'll be leaving Providence and in 10 days I'll be moving into my new place in Vegas. My girlfriend, Zoe, and I will be driving across the country, stopping for a couple days in Syracuse to visit my family. I'm skipping the graduation ceremony so I can be out in Vegas in time for event 1 of the WSOP (luckily my parents are cool with this and were really not much more excited than me about sitting through a bunch of speeches and reading of names).

So a couple days ago I posted about how I hadn't been so happy with my play lately and needed to get my focus back. I think I did a good job of that today. I just finished an 8 hour session and I think I played really well start to finish. Overall I was down just under 15k, but I don't really mind. Playing well feels great right now, I'm confident the results will come in time. I'm gonna go celebrate.
P.S. Fun brag hand, in which I bluff ilvdnfl (aka Urindanger, aka Di Dang)

Its been too long since I've blogged, but I haven't had a whole lot to talk about. School has been taking up a lot of my time in general and taxes have been taking up a lot of my time in the past week. Sadly, these things are even more boring to write about than they are to do.

So I just booked my first +100k cash game day. I've had bigger wins in tournaments, but this is really satisfying. My day started off just multitabling 25/50 and 50/100 ring games and I was also playing the stars 5k freezeout. I got fourth in the freezeout (which pays nothing) and then took a short break. When I came back there weren't many games going. I played a little HU 50/100 with Stinger (aka Brian Hastings, aka LucLongley), and made a little less than a buyin before he had to leave for dinner.

So I woke up at 2am today after going to bed at 6pm yesterday after waking up at 7pm the day before. I don't know why I can't sleep anything even approximating normal hours. On the plus side, there were many great games going on Full Tilt all night, so I got in about 3500 hands. It was a real up and down session, ending with a big big up when gautchos, who won last night's FTOPs for 330k sat to play me at 100/200 HU and lost 50k in 100 hands. He didn't play particularly poorly and I certainly ran well, but I'd be happy to play him again.

This is my first blog post so I guess I should start off by introducing myself. My name is Isaac Haxton. I grew up in Syracuse, NY. I currently live in Providence, RI and am a senior at Brown. I'll be moving to Vegas as soon as I graduate. When I'm not playing poker I spend most of the rest of my time playing other games, discussing poker with my roommates and on the twoplustwo (and now pokersavvyplus!) forums, cooking, and watching tv.
