Things have been pretty swingy for me lately. In the last week I have had my biggest one day win ($8200) and second biggest one day loss (-7500) in the 60/120 game at the commerce. I have had bigger days in bigger games, but probably not in bets. All of this happened as I have been focusing on changing my play to reduce variance some by trying not to put as many chips into pots and not going after as many unwinnable pots.

Two kind of interesting spots from a recent PLO session. They don't have much in common other than the fact that both involve AAxx hands.

About a week ago, I considered making a play which I was pretty sure was bad in a FTOPS tournament, and I made it anyway. I mentally justified it by telling myself that "oh well, its just a stupid tournament, I want to double up or quit." This is just not acceptable. I take this attitude far too often in online tournaments, mainly because of a lack of patience or mental discipline. I need to state it publicly and openly in order to force myself to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Sorry its taken so long to update. I havent been playing much lately so in turn I havent been updating this blog much either. I've been really sick and it got even worse the last week or so. I went to the doctor's and was told I had a sinus infection but only got worse after 2 days on antibiotics. Went back today and found out I have mono, which sucks. What does it mean? Well I can't play any sports for over a month, can't do any heavy lifting or drink. Fun stuff! This year has been ridiculous with how often I have been sick, it's getting REALLY old.

Event 4 was a $300 NLHE tournament that allowed one $300 rebuy and one $3000 add-on. The initial $300 bought 2000 chips, the rebuy bought 2000 chips anytime during the first hour that you had 2000 chips or fewer, and the add-on bought $2500 chips at the end of first hour.

So here's my synopsis of my night in poker. It sucked. I am going to do an hour of commentary for Nickzor after this blog though, which is a benefit of busting everything rather quickly. I played alright tonight, although I was super TAG, which is weird. I think its because its early and I have grown to hate stealing without antes. Anyhoo, I don't even want to talk about hands tonight because it just sucked too much.

July was a frustrating month for me since I lost online. On the bright side, I ran pretty hot in the live games and was still able to profit overall. I don't feel like I played very well and was really just going through the motions. I think a part of the problem was too much time traveling for weddings and whatnot, I really couldn't get into a rhythm. Hopefully August will be better (it looks like it so far). I hope everyone else in pokersavvyplus world has a great month!

Past week or so I've been getting close to a big score like its my job and just keep getting boned in the late game. Today was a fairly rough one. I had put in a fairly long session last night as well getting 28th in the FTP 65k and 3rd in a 60 player winner take all $12k sat. I ended up getting off the computer at 3am last night and decided to watch an episode of Lost real quick as I was 5 episodes from the end of Season 3. Well 7:25am rolled around and I was done with Season 3. Nice life.
