Poker Journal Day 10
Day 10, March 4th: Today went pretty excellent. I won one of those giant $24 buy in things on Tilt for over $8000, then had two other final tables for about $1000 each in smaller tournaments (Big Double A, UB 30r.) Will certainly turn the hand history from the $24 into a Savvy vid because I get stupidly crippled like twice to the degree that in live time I was like “Oh come the fuck on.”
I got some good feedback from the hands posted yesterday. Realized the converter did not work on WordPress correctly, so for tonights I’ll write them out long hand. If anyone is interested in the hands from yesterday I’d just check out HSMTT where there was feedback. Looking at it’s now it’s unreadable in that format.
There was only one hand I put down from today. I know that sounds odd considering how many deep runs I had today, but as far as I can tell I mostly won flips and then coolered people at a final table who were playing too passive.
The hand is from the Stars $50 70k freezeout:
My stack: 20600
UTG stack: 22300
Blinds 250/500 with 100 ante. I hold Qh Qc UTG+1.
Preflop: UTG raises to 1262, I call, the BB calls.
Flop: 9h 9s Ts
BB checks, UTG bets 2500, I call, BB folds.
Turn: 3d
UTG checks, I check.
River: 2c
UTG bets 3500, I call.
The line feels a bit passive. I think if I were to do anything different I might 3 bet/call preflop, but people in the $50 don’t tend to get super creative in that spot for a 4 bet so I’m not that in long with it. I’m also wondering if people prefer a bet on the turn as opposed to checking back and evaluating?
