Vegas and the 40k
Sorry for not updating my blog recently, was busy playing poker then relaxing. On Tuesday I flew out super early to Vegas, where I plan to be here for 7 weeks for the WSOP! This is my first series and I'm very excited for the next couple Months.
Today I played my first WSOP event ever, the 40 year anniversary, 40k NLH tourney. Unfortunately, I didn't do too well and was pretty bummed about it, but I'll get over it. I played a lot of semi- interesting hands verse Jay "Krantz" Rosenkrantz today, who's a very good high stakes online cash game player, including my bust out hand. Krantz and I had been going at it a lot, the first hand we played I open one before the hijack, he 3 bets the button, I 4 bet, he folds. The second hand I call his raise in the small blind with red nines and check call on T7x and we check down an Ace turn and river brick and his JT is good. The Last hand of 300/600 I open to 1800, he makes it 6k in the small blind, I call TT, we check down a J65.....9 (bringing flush draw)..... J board to the river, and he bets 25k into 14k, I tank for a really long time, and even though I don't think hes bluffing that often, I think hes sick enough to have worse for value, so I called and was shown J9o for the stone nuts and was shortish. Then I raised the cutoff at 400/800 to 2200 with AJcc, and an older guy called in the small blind and Jay made it 11500 in the big blind and I tanked for a while before making a little bit of an over shove for 64k total (might of been 66.2k, cant remember) and he called with JJ and that was the end of me. O well.
Anyways the 1k is on Saturday and It's going to be a massive field, I'm hopeful for that tourney and the rest of the WSOP, thanks for reading!
4th in WPT Championship
As you can tell by my title, I got 4th in the 25k buyin WPT Championship for about 570k. Pretty amazing experience and my biggest score by far. Obviously I'm a little disappointed about getting 4th, but what can you do. I went to the TV final table second in chips and couldn't get much of anything going under the lights. The eventual winner (Atimos aka Yevgeniy Timoshenko) deserved to win. I played too tight at the final table and let him run me over a little bit. Hopefully I can get another shot at a big final table soon, as I was a little intimated by the "lights." I have been too other big Final Tables before, but the WPT is a whole different animal. The table is very awkward and I had to physically lift my cards to get them to where the cameras were instead of naturally just sliding them back. It was a great experience for me though and overall I thought I played really well from day 1-6.
I'm in Annapolis (Home!) until the wsop starts. I'm happy to have some time to relax and stuff, I need to do a lot of shit, because I'm moving and am way behind on my pokersavvy videos! Ok until next time...
WPT Championship
Sorry for not updating my blog in a couple weeks. Anyways yesterday I arrived in Vegas for the 25k WPT Championship. I'm going to play the 5k tomorrow then the 25k on Saturday. Should be pretty sick, I have never played a tourney over 16k-ish (EPT Monte Carlo) before so it should be a good experience. I'm confident I can do some damage. Since my last blog I grinded scoop almost everyday, and bricked them for the most part, except for getting 5th in the $530 6 max for 33k. That tourney was a lot of fun, 6 max tourneys are always a lot of fun and the tourney went pretty smoothly for the most part as I cruised until about 8 or 9 handed when I lost some big pots and became short going into the Final Table. I lost a pretty huge pot with AJ v J2hh on the Q Th x Kh Ah, when the eventual winner check min-raised the river and I was forced to call. Then the button opened for 2.7x and I shoved 15bbs in the BB with 22. He had 77 and that was GG for me. I was happy with how I played for the most part, so I wasn't too disappointed with the finish.
On Sunday was the 10k SCOOP which I was really looking forward too. After a Easter Brunch at my Aunts home, I raced home and played the the 10k and a couple others, I built up a nice stack in the 10k then lost KK to AK for 62k at 300/600, and all of a sudden I was short and couldn't get anything going and busted soon after. I haven't played tourneys since Sunday, and I haven't played a live tourney in a while, so I can't wait for the 5k and 25k coming up. Alright that's all for now.

NCAA Tourney + SCOOP
So unfortunately Maryland ran into the buzz saw that is Memphis and lost in the second round. O well. But the rest of the NCAA tourney has been pretty awesome, Saturdays Final 4 games should be fun. I think UNC is clearly the most talented team in the Final 4, but can they play enough defense to take it down is the question. I think they are the favorites right now, but 'Nova is playing great and could definitely win that game, Dante Cunningham is very sick. Cunningham V. Psycho T should be an awesome match up. In the other game, Michigan state plays UCONN. This game will most likely be a lot more boring and low scoring then the other game, but should be a good one nonetheless. I think UCONN is the better team, so I'd expect Thabeet and company to advance.
So the SCOOP starts tomorrow, and I'm really pumped and ready too get a big score this series. The structures for these tourney are almost too good. They are going to take a longggg time, but it should be worth it! After SCOOP, I am going to Vegas for the 5 Star World Poker Classic/WPT Championship, and then I'm either going to Monte Carlo or going back home for a while...and then WSOP!
Go Terps!!!
Maryland plays California in the first round of the NCAA tourney today, and I'm super pumped. I think the Pokersavvy office is located very close to Cal, so hopefully they will watch their hometown team get crushed today. I think we have a good shot to win and should be a fun game. God the NCAA tourney is so amazing. Ok, that's all
Busto EPT Dortmund + College Basketball = Home.
Well as you can tell from the title, I am home. I flew back after busting EPT Dortmund on Thursday. I was going to stay until Saturday, but i was fed up with traveling. After going to Orlando, then Berlin, then Dortmund, I needed to come home. I was supposed to go to the Bay area for Bay 101 shooting star, but I needed a break and decided to skip it and come home. Since coming home on Thursday, I have been lazy and pretty much just watched the conference tournament games (for college basketball obv). Maryland plays Duke in the ACC semifinals tomorrow. Hopefully they win, as with a win they are 100% in the NCAA tourney instead of maybe 80% in as they are now. March is defiantly one of my favorite months out of the year (holy shit did you see the UCONN v. Syracuse game?!)...The NCAA tourney is just so awesome. So my plans for the next couple weeks is grind the NCAA tourney and maybe play some donkaments.
So last Sunday I had a nice 4th in the 150r for 25k which was cool, but Dortmund didn't go to well for me as a I busted early on Day 1 which sucked. EPT structures suck so badly. It really sucks, but whatever. How I lost my stack, left me hating Dortmund!... I played a really stupid hand at 75/150, where oldish guy makes it 550 one before the hijack (size was standard for him) and I call 88 with 7500 in the cutoff. Blinds fold, flop is T42r, he checks, I bet 525, he makes it 1525,(Im pretty sure hes full of shit) I call. Turn 5, he bets 2100, I call with 2900 behind planning to fold to river shove, because I don't think he'd bluff river, but i def think he will bluff turn. River is A. Check/Check AQ good !!! sigh..... then he opens Hijack to 575, i shove 3k from button with 88, he calls with A4s...xxxxA. and GG. So that sucked but whatever...I got 8th in Dortmund last year, busting to good friend and eventual champion Timex. Well shockingly Timex is 2/8 going into the Final Table tomorrow, so good luck to him!
Ok that's all for now, thanks for reading.

Florida
Well i just arrived yesterday into Orlando. I am here for a week or so, for no particular reason. Just to hang out with a couple friends (Matt--GrinderMJ,Sean--RankMEnow, and Shawn--Jordankickz) before I'm off to Germany. For some reason I am up at 8:30 am. Which, if you know me, is very unusual. But I'm only in Florida for a week! Gotta get a early start!
As for poker, I think I have only played once since Sunday. I played a couple Wednesday tourneys while watching my beloved Maryland basketball team lose to Duke, which was a lot more upsetting then getting one outed on the river. I hate Duke, but that's for another time. I didn't cash or go deep in any tourneys, but that is standard of course
. Though I'm vacationing in sunny Florida, I'm actually excited to play Sundays tomorrow, I really want to win something cool!
We got really good seats to the Magic v. Suns basketball game on Tuesday, I am really excited for that. Growing up the Magic were my favorite team (now the Wizards are) and I don't think I have ever seen them play live. A battle of Dwight Howard v. Shaq should be a lot of fun to watch. Too bad both teams aren't at their best because of injuries.
Until next time.

GG L.A.
Well another WPT, another disappointment! I busted out of the LAPC yesterday in spectacular fashion.
Young Kid who was playing pretty well and aggressive opens the hijack to 1500 @ 300/600, I make it 4850 in the SB with 25k behind with AcKs. Folds back to the hijack, who after a little bit of thought pushes in a stack of 1ks and 5ks. I call quickly, and he turns over KcTc. Now for the fun part; The Board runs out A67...Q......J!!!! And that's all for me. It was a disappointing end, but I wasn't too upset. I understand his play, this was the third time I had 3 bet him, and the stacks were good for a four bet.
So what else would I do besides instantly register for online tourneys right after I busted. I got back to my room @ 4pm California time, so I could only play a couple tournaments, but I ended up with like all the chips in the Pokerstars 109+ rebuys. Unfortunately I couldn't close that out, as I ended up getting 4th for 13k and change. I can't complain, I won every big flip and won every hand I needed until 4 handed.
Tonight, I'm taking a red eye flight home. Then I am most likely going to Florida this weekend for a couple days to hang out with some friends. Then I'm off to Germany to see some friends and play EPT Dortmund. From Dortmund I will fly back to California for WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars and see some friends and my sister. So yes a lot more traveling, after Bay 101, I have no idea, hopefully have some much needed time at home...
Home?
After being on the road non-stop for 2 months it's great to be home. In December I fly too Mexico to play the LAPT there and hang out, which was a very good time until the Mexican government stopped the tournament with 80 some odd people left, good thing i was long busto. (Link to an article about it: http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/article/5684/lapt-nuevo-vallarta-poker-event-cancelled-after-starting) After hanging out in Puerto Vallarta, I was off to Vegas for the 5 Diamond Poker Classic.
I played two 5k's and the 15k Main Event and it was brick cityyyy (translation=no cashes). This was my first time that i played poker in Vegas. Though i didn't do well, It wasn't the end of the world, such is the life of a professional donkamenter. Kind of like a baseball player, except hitting .200 is good? Anyways, Then i went home for Christmas, but shortly i was off to the Bahamas!! I have fond memories of Paradise Island, but this year was not my time, though i guess it was my roommate's time as Tony Gregg aka wwwBTHEREcom got second for a whole lot of money. Bahamas was a blast though, the people, the weather, the food/alcohol, and everything else. I already can't wait for next year.
Then for some reason i went to Turning Stone in Up State New York.... in January. Turning Stone is my home casino of sorts, being that its a 18+ Casino and i have been going there since i was 18, but its nothing amazing. After a week there (i got 9th in a 300$ donkament for 1k!!!) I was off to Atlantic City. This was my first time in AC and in my first AC tournament i got 4th in the 2k for 31k. That was pretty cool, tournament went pretty smoothly, until the Final Table, but it just wasn't meant to be. After AC i went home and that bring me to now. But in two weeks I'm back on the road again, making my trip to LA for the LAPC...Until next time!

Yo!
Hey guys im glad to join the plus team. I look forward to doing more videos, blogs, articles, and whatever the bosses want to do.
Today I played the Sunday tournaments and watched the Superbowl of course. Wow what a game! Amazing second half, but whats up with the no review on the last play? Anyways, Sunday tourneys were not good this week. I cashed in a couple things, but no scores of note. Last week i got second in the pokerstars 500 for 72k, so i have a couple weeks before i can complain about running bad on Sunday.
So for the next couple weeks im going to be playing a lot of tourneys and crank out some more videos. It should be fun. I have been traveling constantly for the past month or so, so these 2-3 weeks will be relaxing. On the 17th im going out to Los Angeles for the WPT-LAPC. I have never been to LA, so I'm excited about seeing some friends, the sights, and of course the poker. Anyways thanks for reading! Sorry about another short blog :/
