Sunday are the Devil!
I am writing this halfway through my night of tournies out of utter frustration. This story is a familiar one on the day of rest as with all the big buyin tournaments residing on Sunday you can burn through a lot of money rather quickly. I have been sucked out by an underpair 3 times allin pf so far and lost a 21k pot 10 mins into the Sunday Million with 98 on a 996 board to TT. Allin on the flop, T on river, good game! Gotta keep plugging though, even though I am playing like crap at the moment after all the losses so far today, down to 4 tournaments and might add 2 more max. Will reply to this with final day numbers.
On another note I made the brilliant decision to start Kevin Jones (RB, DET) today instead of Chester Taylor (RB, MIN) in Fantasy Football and it basically cost me a spot in the finals and the chance at a decent chunk of change. Gah! What an emotional roller coaster I live!
New band of the day: The Classic Crime
Total Tally for the Day
Tournaments: 10
Buyins: $3662
Cashes: $0
Tournaments still left: 4
Sigh!
Computer issues apparently come in bunches too
Computer crashed again this morning. I was in such a fit of rage I decided to tell my PC to hit the road and back its' bags. This is the 3rd crash for a new computer in 3 months for me. I am not downloading secret CIA files or anything, just playing poker basically. Anyhoo, this time pushed me further then the last two and I went to the mall and bought a Mac Pro and VM Fusion which will let me run Windows apps on the Mac, although Stars and FTP have Mac versions anyway, only reason I will really need to use it is for pokertracker and pahud. So far I love the mac, granted it was 3 times the price I spent on the PC I think it will make up for it in reliability. Now I have a huge paper weight of a PC and am not 100% sure I know what I will do with it, I could just keep it for a rainy day, but considering it is basically brand new that seems like a waste. Anyway guys, sorry for the ramble, these crashes were just getting so ridiculous I felt I might as well whine to you guys. The old saying might be true; "once you go Mac, you never go back" Adios.

Scores come in bunches!
After winning the PCA seat last night for 12k I scored 12.8k for 2nd in a $150 tonight. I will be loading the HH into the HH replayer when it is all done and post the video from that. As some of you know, I have ties to Poker Stars so I wont be having any screen captures from other sites. If I ever have a HH I want to post from somewhere else I will be loading then into the replayer and commentate that. GL to all the new members on the tables, don't be shy if you see me around!
Chip and a Chair Exemplified
So I was donking around tonight in some late tournaments and decided to play the $33r satellite to the PCA even though I had bought in a few weeks ago since I would at the very least get W$ back for it. So fast forward to 3 handed in a winner take all format. I end up losing QJ to K8 on a KTx board and am down to 5 BBs. Then next hand in the BB I see 72o and even though it was mathematically correct to call any 2 I just couldn't do it. So next hand I see 84o and decided to wait one more hand for yucks. K9s ends up chopping with 54s after her turns the miracle straight. Next hand I double with K9s vs. 65s even on his 5xx flop, K on the turn, ship me 8 big blinds. Couple hands later I steal blinds two times, including an inexplicable hand where I checked down to the river with K9o and bet on a A5438 board and he folded, then proceeded to double up with AA, suddenly I am CL. Won another pretty big hand and ended up getting HU down 4:3, but 3 handed into that I had a big lead which culminated in a win with A9s > 44. Overall a fairly hilarious run of good fortune and hitting cards at the right time have me going to the Bahamas again this year and not paying my own money. I am going to post the entire HH from 3 handed with 3.5x BB's in my forum tonight, I am hoping it lets me post the whole thing, if it doesn't I will post the highlights. Now I'm off to buy loads of sunscreen so my pasty skin won't burn. Adios.
My Bio (short version)
Hey guys. My name is Justin Rollo, I am known as WPThero on most sites or some derivative of "jurollo". I am a professional multi-table tournament (MTT) player and specialize in NLHE tournaments although I dabble in everything. I started playing poker around 4 years ago during college in lieu of working at a mall making minimum wage. Who would have thought 4 years later the little hobby that began to pay for fast food at 4am in college would turn into a profession that allowed me to travel the world?
Even with some moderate success coming while I was in college, mainly Junior year into Senior year I decided to stick it out and received my Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies with a concentration in Urban Planning. As of today, December 11, 2007, I still have an unquenched goal to follow through in some manner with my degree, whether in be a formal manner working on a state planning commission or simply by utilizing my knowledge by speculating in Real Estate. No matter what happens with those goals, I am fairly confident that poker will always be a part of my life in one way or another. I am a coach on Pokersavvy to try to help other players achieve some of the success, and in turn, financial freedom, that I have gained from playing this great game. I look forward to creating a, hopefully, engrossing environment for everyone (including myself) to learn more about NLHE tournaments and maybe have a little fun along the way. I am really excited about this and hope all the subscribers are as well.

Sunday Bloody Sunday
Well I have become to dread Sundays in a way. While it remains the only day were you can win life changing money on a consistent basis it is also a day in which I usually lose a good deal of money playing tournaments. I have become used to it in a sense but when you stretch 3 or 4 of them together it becomes pretty hard to swallow sometimes. In the end today I had 1 cash and it was a lower tier one so overall I was down a lot. Part of the reason I played so poorly is because I am having some serious computer issues. I just bought a new custom computer like 2 months ago and it has only been headaches. I am hoping to get everything solved very soon because I cant really record until it is settled. I lost some video footage I had been saving up so that stinks too. I am likely going to try to get refunded for this hunk of junk and buy a Mac Pro tomorrow so hopefully I can get it all settled.
On the bright side the Patriots are now 13-0! Dominated the Steelers tonight which was great. My early guess for the line next week is Patriots -30. We'll see, I can honestly foresee a 72-0 game next week with Brady getting 5 TD's and the record. Then we'll have Miami which I am sure will be even a bigger line, maybe -35 which is just insane when you consider this is PROFESSIONAL football. 13 down, 6 to go.
Let the blogging begin!
So everything seems to be all set up here for some serious blogging. I am going to try to keep as up to date as possible on here in regards to poker and moreover, my life. I won't be simply posting hands and results from poker because I think that becomes to formulaic and dry for a lot of people. My main goal will be to keep you guys interested, maybe elicit some laughter here and there. These will be a far cry from the articles you will see written here about strategy, as those will, at least attempt to be, scholarly in format. These blog posts will not. So here it is, my introduction to you, the readers.
