Mugging in Montreal
A 2p2'er recently gotted mugged at knife point in Australia. While this really sucks and I feel terrible for JP OSU, it reminded me of this rather funny story. You can click on that link to read all about the mugging in Aussie if you would like.
One night in Montreal I was walking with two friends when a bearded man in sloppy clothes approached us and stuck something into my friend's back and said "You know the drill!" This was one of those defining flight or flight moments that we all inevitably face in our lives, a true test of what you are made of. Like a bolt of lightning I began to take off heading for the nearest bar I could get into, leaving my apparently slow friends to fend for themselves. It was only when I was about into the door of a nearby bar I heard my friend exclaim, "Hey!" It wasn't a blood curdling type scream but more of an incredulous, bewildered one. I returned to the scene of the crime to find that the homeless man was not wielding a knife, gun or any other weapon of any consequence but rather a rotten banana. Upon being called out on his less then lethal weapon he screamed, "Please I swear it's for alcohol!" Thats how you almost get mugged in style.

Another Ridiculous Downswing / The Worst Kind
I am in the middle of another downswing. Which really sucks, the worst part is its the worst kind of downswing! I am not just getting coolered early in tournaments, which I can handle. It is getting deep with a nice stack and getting coolered or bad beat or not winning a single gigantic flip when I need it which results in a bunch of inconsequential deep finishes that amount to squat on my bottom line. My best friend is coming home from Iraq (for the last time, he's done with the Army now!) tomorrow so I will probably be inebriated for much of the next 4-5 days with him which means I won't check around the forums much (except Friday afternoon). So if you have questions please be patient. I have 3 more vids queued up to get released whenever I fit in on the schedule and they have some good early game stuff I think you guys have been craving. If nothing else take this blog as a piece of wisdom on how to deal the inevitable downswings you will run into, take a break from the game! Have fun in real life and do whatever else it is in your life you enjoy, if it wasn't the middle of winter I would be golfing everyday! Gah! Life tilt! Talk to you all soon.

PCA Day 1
Quick update for everyone. After day 1 I am at 75,450, we started with 20,000 and the first full level on Monday is 600/1200/150 so I am in very good shape after a long day of poker.
Happy New Year All!
Happy New Year's everyone. What a year 2007 was and hopefully you all enjoyed the end of your year. I am preparing to go to the Bahamas for a week to play in the PCA ($8k EPT) event in 3 days so I am hoping to have some good news for you guys after each day of play. I am going to bring my video camera and maybe do some video blogging after each day of play and load it up here (if the internet permits). Another way I could go would be to do an audio blog. I will update you guys either way. I really want to take the time to thank all of you for signing up for PokerSavvy Plus and giving up such great feedback along the way, I really feel like 2008 is going to be special for this site. I have had some ideas to help build this community on this end and I have been thinking about maybe throwing together a weekly or biweekly podcast for you guys which I can get a lot of thoughts out of my head. There will be a little gap in my videos because of a New Year's trip I took in addition to the PCA trip but I think we have a guest pro who made some MTT videos to fill in the gap. I really look forward to working more with you guys and hope that 2008 will be a successful one for all of us, inside of poker and out.
