Sometimes I get the same feeling. THen I don't play a week or so, which gets me alot time to read a poker book or watch some vids, or mayby forget everything about poker for a hole week. Work out helps out to stress down and be clear in the head when playing.
Mayby take care of the real life things first, hard to advice on that.
My poker balance is red too. Im not sure how much, but I think 1k $ or so over the past year:(
But at least im almost breaking even at Nl 25, so the rake is making up+ for the loss. So my perspective is just to play alot of hands now and hopefully start winning small and get the rake too.
You have to quit Poker until real life is back in order. This was one of the most important lesson i have learned from B. Greensteins book and his thoughts on poker and how mental stability and psycho- social problems affect your game.
[ ] mentally able to drop down and play NL10 or SNGs
[x] tons of real life bullshit going on
Advice/opinions?
[x] statistical fluke run
[ ] all time poker balance in the red, but.....
[x] 4 month losing streak after never having lost more than 2 months straight before
[ ] mentally able to drop down and play NL25 if the losing continues, considering I just dropped down to NL50 and can't really beat that for a decent win rate anymore either.

Solution - screw VIP points, rakeback, or whatever bonuses you get from cash grinding. Go back to playing MTT's where I can actually win and only lose 1 tournament buyin each time.
you like playing poker, so you can't quit cuz that's torture. get your shit together and play when you rly wanna play imo. don't just play cuz you feel like you gotta grind of w/e. poker is not a career for most ppl, so don't pursue it. it'll come to you if anything. don't force it, let the game come to you. cuz it will.
Sorry I'm a bit late getting to this thread, but I just found it.
I went through something similar a couple of months ago when I tilted away most of my BR. In two months on FT I'd more than doubled mr BR and then in a couple of days I was in the red. I was sick of it, but I knew I still wanted to play.
In the end I stopped playing for about two weeks, then put a small amount of money onto stars to start over. Taking the break really helped me. I watched a few videos but I never played a game. When I started playing again, my head was clear and since then I've been doing pretty good again, albeit I haven't played as much as I'd like to have so far.
I agree with SosMsos though, if you have real life bullshit going on in your life right now your game is going to be off. Try taking a short break, sort things out and give yourself a chance to relax and rethink things. If you aren't enjoying poker anymore, maybe the break will let you realize that, or maybe it will reenergize you like it did for me, plus it will let you focus on your life for a bit, rather than having to devote X time a day to something that you're not enjoying anyway.
