SavvyPoints FAQ. You've got questions. We've got answers.
If your questions aren't addressed on this page, feel free to contact us through our support page.
1) How does PokerSavvy work? PokerSavvy is an affiliate site, meaning that we get paid when we deliver new players to our poker room partners. As you know, the online poker market is an extremely competitive one, with dozens of poker rooms competing for players- attention. Because of this, poker rooms pay sites like PokerSavvy to help attract new customers. To reward you for using PokerSavvy, we give a large amount of what we earn back to you in the form of SavvyPoints and free gifts.
2) Why should I use PokerSavvy? Because if you're going to play poker anyway, why not get something additional for doing so? You'll get SavvyPoints worth up to $100 in free gifts for every sign up you do. And free means free - there are no shipping or handling charges. In addition to your SavvyPoints, you still get your deposit bonus from the poker rooms you sign up for, and many times you'll even get a BIGGER bonus when you sign up through PokerSavvy since we work to negotiate special deals for our customers. So there's really no downside.
3) OK. But will I actually get my free gifts? Yes, you will. We attempt to ship all free gifts within 24 hours of receiving your order in our shop. The success of our site rests with our reputation. If something is wrong with your product or the service you received contact us through our support page and we will make it right.
4) How do I earn SavvyPoints? There are 2 ways to earn SavvyPoints. First, by signing up for poker rooms. Second, by referring friends. Each time you refer a friend that person becomes a permanent part of your PokerSavvy network. Anytime your friend completes a sign up you get a referral bonus. You also get referral bonuses when friends of friends complete sign ups.
5) So how do I sign up for poker rooms? Register for a free My PokerSavvy account. Once you're logged in, select a poker room where you do not already have a real money account and follow the instructions on the page that appears after you click on the poker room name. It's important that you follow the instructions carefully since we can only credit your SavvyPoints if your new account is associated with PokerSavvy. Following the instructions will ensure that there are no glitches and that you'll get your SavvyPoints.
6) What do I have to do after I sign up? You'll need to deposit a minimum amount of money and play a minimum number of raked hands at the poker room you chose to sign up with. This is to show the poker rooms that you're a bonafide poker player and not a rabid free gift hunter. Though we imagine there are a few of those in the crowd too ;)
7) Do requirements or SavvyPoints levels ever change? Yes, SavvyPoints reward amounts and requirements sometimes change. We hope that points levels will usually go up and requirements levels will usually come down, but sometimes due to the needs of our poker room partners it works the other way around. Rest assured that you'll always receive the number of SavvyPoints advertised at the time you started your sign up, so we’ll never change on you mid-stream. The same applies to the deposit and hand requirements.
8) What's rake? What's a raked hand? Rake is how poker rooms make money. It's a small amount that the poker room takes out of each pot. Since poker is played against other players and not against the house the poker room makes its money by taking a little cut of each pot, usually 5% of the pot up to a max of $3 per pot. So a raked hand is any hand from which a poker room takes its cut. Note that at some of our poker rooms like Titan Poker the raked hand requirement is stated in terms of points, e.g. earn 250 Titan Poker Points. These point systems are loyalty programs run by the poker rooms, like comp programs at traditional casinos, but the number of points you earn is tied to the number of raked hands you play. So it's just a different name for the same thing.
9) How can I check to see how many raked hands I've completed? Our users often want to know how close they are to their free gift. At many poker rooms you can check how many raked hands you've played or points you've accumulated by checking your account in the lobby of their software. In other cases, you need to email or live chat with their customer service. PokerSavvy doesn't have access to that information.
10) I completed the deposit and raked hand requirement. Now what? Give us just a few days. We need to wait for the the poker room to confirm your sign up and as soon as they do we'll credit your SavvyPoints immediately. If you haven't received your SavvyPoints within a week of completing your requirements contact us through our support page and we'll get it resolved for you.
11) I already have an account at ____ poker room. Can I still sign up there? If your account is a real money account, then no, you can't sign up. Our partners are looking for new customers, so if you're already a real money customer they don't want to pay to acquire you again (though we wish they would!). However, if your existing account is a PLAY money account, then you CAN sign up but you need to create a brand new account with a different email address. With our growing list of poker room partners, we're sure you'll be able to find at least a few places where you don't already have an account.
