Summary (Rated 7 out of 10)

PKR proposes a unique online poker experience. The casual players will enjoy the 3D graphics and others cool features. However the game slowness and the difficulty to multitable will annoy the pros. At least, PKR deserves a try to discover this new way to play online poker.

Game Selection (Rated 3 out of 10)

The game variety is quite poor on PKR. Stud Players have been forgotten, as the room proposes only Limit, Pot-Limit and No-Limit Hold'em and Omaha. Moreover, player traffic is low (PKR is an independent network), and sometimes it is very difficult to find the right game, especially if you want to play Limit Hold ‘em or High-Stakes. One good point is that PKR allows the newbies to play micro-stakes poker ($0.02/0.04 NL or $0.05/0.10 limit). For Sit-n-Gos, the limit range begins at $1 buy-ins and goes to $200 buy-ins, either10-handed, 6-handed, or heads-up. There are normal tables (8min/round) and Turbo tables (4min/round). The blind structure is 15-30;30-60;50-100;75-150;100-200...with an initial stack of 1500 chips. There are some tournament options offered as well, but compared to other sites, PKR’s tournament options are poor.

Quality of Players (Rated 9 out of 10)

It should not come as a surprise that PKR’s 3D Interface and the other fun features are very fish-friendly. As a result, the opposition on PKR is weak with a lot of loose-passive players or maniacs. People want to see many flops and have a lot of difficulty folding beaten hands. Moreover you will find many short stackers on PKR, with 20% of the maximum stack allowed. They represent easy prey. If you are a winning player with solid preflop hand selection, you should dominate the games easily.

Software (Rated 7 out of 10)

The originality of its software is one of PKR’s main strengths in a more and more competitive Poker room environment. First off, the software is user-friendly and all the traditional options have been implemented (4-colour decks, automatic buttons, the ability to show just one card...). The lobby functions are classic - you can use filters to search your game, use a friends list or register on a waiting list. PKR’s software includes some very fun features like the emotions (you can make your avatar dance, perform chip tricks or stand-up after going all-in). Another important feature is that you can only see your cards during a few seconds. After, if you want to see them another time during the hand, you push a special button and all the players will see your avatar pick up its cards. The downside of this feature is that it makes multitabling very hard, especially for Omaha. You can only play three tables at the same time and it’s sufficient to give you a headache. Moreover, there is also a strange bug. If you play heads-up, in the first hand one player will have the Big Blind AND the Button, and he will keep the button for the second hand with the small blind.

Graphics (Rated 10 out of 10)

The 3D Graphics are simply beautiful - you are literally bluffed by the game atmosphere. Your avatar is totally customizable (face, weight, clothes, voice, etc.). You can buy some new features like sunglasses or chip tricks with your PKR points. As a result, each player at the table is unique. Even the design of the table environment and the dealers change at each game and you can move the camera as you want (first person, overview, etc.). The sound is good too and many voices with different accents are available. With all of these features you will believe you are playing a live game on your computer.

Profitability (Rated 7 out of 10)

PKR is a mixed blessing for your bankroll. On the one hand the average PKR player is terrible, but on the other hand the game is slow and it is hard to multitable. The trackers like PokerTracker don’t work on PKR for the moment and the Player’s notes system is poor (you can only select an icon). For the casual low stack player, PKR can be a good way to make profit as one can play one blind level higher compared to their normal limit without taking much risk. The PKR deposit bonus is attractive. You will receive a $50 bonus for 6000 PKR points (60 dollars raked), which represents an 83% rakeback. And you should only play a few more hands to complete the Savvy bonus requirements.

easy bonus but....

Posted Feb 06, 2010 by tweeledig

After reading the reviews and hearing that a friend of mine had made a deposit to set his first steps in the world of cash I just had to try it myself. Here are my thoughts. 1 BONUS This is actually quite easy as long as you keep in mind that you want to play six max 0.25/0.5 or higher. You could venture one level lower if you dont want the risk of a big suckout destroying your bankroll but the level of play borders playchips. You can select high avg pot games and play tight in the beginning untill you double up once or twice. Multitabling is very hard because you get miniview windows on the right and you can only select 1 table at the time. If you manage to work like that you are fine. Dont bother to write to many notes. I stuckto the shark symbol for the creative player, the rock for the tight nit and a dollar or fish sign for total donkeys (I stopped doing that cause there are so many). If you are an average player like me you should be able to double up a couple of times and have a healthy bankroll for the buyin level. 12 hours of multitabling and .25/0.5 or less at higher levels should suffice to clear the bonus (and the savvypoints). DON'T do STT's as even the regular games are a crapshoot, especially the sixmax STT's.DON'T do MTT's under $20 for the same reasons. 2 FUN? As I hadn't figured out the do's and don'ts I hated the sites the sloth and the crappy structures. I started playing STT's for $5 and $10 cause that made more sense with my roll and ended up having to play a couple of doubleup STT's to boost my roll to a level where I could play 6Max cash 3PROFIT You can make a bundle if you are a patient cashgamer. You want to play somewhere else if tourneys are your thing. 4SOFTWARE and stuff You can have a lot of fun with yr character (I choose a french chick) but after a while it just gets to be boring. The sotware asks alot of your system even if you choose low detail. Different camera angles just make your stomach cramp and give you a headache. The best camera angle still makes it hard to just see the essentials (i.e. your cards, community cards and amounts players have) The feature that covers your holecards is especially annoying when multitabling. 5 I WILL occasionaly play a MTT or a cashtable with my friend but I won't be a regular

Good poker room!

Posted Feb 02, 2010 by Patymedrano

I played at NL$50 and NL$100 and double thru sit and go's , the site is very nice, obviously nice graphics and design... The level of players is mostly fishy.. some very good players there too, but at NL$50 you can find easy fish bites ... The bonus is awarded as you clear the entires amount of points requested... so u better calculate how much you will be able to clear and finish about the same time with the savvy promo. I fully recommend this site, nice promo !! ah I almost forgot, many good tourneys too are available.

Good place for casual players, but...

Posted Jan 23, 2010 by Puskaaja

I wouldn't recommend this site for everyone. First of all the tempo is really slow, It's difficult to get many hands per hour. Multitabling is possible with four tables, but you can't follow more than one table at time, and getting reads is really difficult. Playing only one table is fun, but hyperactive multitablers might disagree. The rake in cash tables below NL25 is outrageous. 100% deposit bonus is really difficult to clear with proper brm, you really have to do nolifing to achieve that. I eventually decided to play turbo HUSnG's, because I found NL 6max cash games too slow-paced. + lots of bad players + good tournament selection ( both SnG's and MTT's ) + online support + nice graphics, and the software is still fast and easy to use - only few plo and o8 cash tables - big rake - multitabling - slow-paced games

Fishtank? YES !!!

Posted Mar 27, 2008 by lotesco

I think PKR is a goldfish bowl filled to the top. but u have to have a big enought bankroll, to compensate those swings, because at the cashtable, everybody call u with everything, and in the turnament, donkeys start to play tight.
so if u want a pice of the action, go there.
the only realy bad thing is the multitableing feature, it isnt realy good to handle, and the amount of hands u play each hour at the tables equal the amount u can play in a casino.

so play highlimits, and ull be rewardet by those nice calling donkey.

enjoy

3D poker

Posted Mar 18, 2008 by tatry1

If You would like to end promotion faster, simply play one vs one tables. Then You will collect points faster cuz You pay for almost all hands. I dont like 3D poker funny but nothing more

PKR - the different poker site

Posted Mar 15, 2008 by Dsdnv

PKR is a site that differs a LOT from any other poker site you've probably seen. The site tries to simulate real games by offering 3d graphics, customizable avatars etc. The attempt is nice but still something is lacking. After a little while I was longing back to ordinary poker site as I grew tired of sounds and looks of the site. 3d graphics also tend to make multitabling pretty impossible which is a bad thing. Last of all, the network is pretty small so there aren't many games to choose from. PKR has potential, but it needs a lot of work before it's my site of choice.

Very slow

Posted Mar 13, 2008 by markusnik

3D graphics were fine but very slow. I think that 3D graphics is not good thing in Internet poker. The bonus is very great and other players very weak so this is good to play.

Not for multitablers, but fun experience...

Posted Mar 13, 2008 by Koiku69

The competition was very fishy due the extremely heavy software which reduces many good players very much. Multitabling was almost impossible the way I wanted, because you have to look your holehards every time. Graphics were great, like sims but poker version. Phase tournaments earn PKR points quickly..

For laughs and money, with time

Posted Mar 12, 2008 by Lihamylly

Well, it is certainly different. It's like The Sim's in las vegas. You can do a wide scale of actions which didnt stop amusing me. The games are very slow so you must be patient. On the other hand, the fishrate is quite good at least in low levels. I completed the required points by playing TAG in 2-3 25NL tables and at the same time letting some sparks fly at 1-2 6-MAX 10NL. So the points can be achieved at microstakes too.

In summarum, a good but slow aquarium where I found miself laughing out loud many times. Enjoyable, but only if you are not in rush.

PKR

Posted Mar 06, 2008 by juhamkoi

PKR is really nice 3-D pokerroom but the software is very, very, very slow. And I didn't like the way of multitabling, only one window and active table is ok but non active table is too small, you dont even see it. The ring games is quite easy and there find allways players enought, easy to get Pokersavvy points even in one table! Like I sad, PKR looks nice but software too slow. Anyway, I can recommend this to everyone who needs easy Pokersavvy points.

PKR - different

Posted Mar 05, 2008 by maxiv

The 3D user interface looks nice. Sometimes there were no players in limit tables, even if there were 7000+ players online, makes e wonder if that figure is actual or just made up...

PKR

Posted Feb 05, 2008 by sigi

The PKR software is very slow because of the 3D graphics and it's almost impossible to multitable. But the players are very bad at the small limits so it compensates the bad software.

PKR fishies

Posted Feb 04, 2008 by Jay Dawg

This room is packed with fish waiting to offer up their stacks. I played for less than one week to meet the requirements and in that time I made over $700 profit + savvy points + deposit bonus. However they do get minus two stars for the slow game play and lack of ease for multi-tabling. Overall the games are soft, just don't let the slow game play put you on tilt.

My PKR rewiew

Posted Jan 11, 2008 by Uunis

Honestly, I don't like this site at all. Games are slow, the über 3d-graphics crashes the whole software down even if playing only 1 table, so multitabling is too difficult. And finally, the support sucks. I needed to wait 2-3 weeks for them to figure out why my moneybookers cash-out method was on disabled status. And when they did figure it, they didn't even tell me the reason why it was disabled. Plus, I needed to send them my driving licence (no cameras and scanners on this household).

But the games was very soft though (NL25 especially), and bonus was relatively easy to clear. That earns them 2 stars.

Nice Site @ PKR - But Not for multi-tabling

Posted Dec 28, 2007 by eikka

PKR is a 3D Poker Room! I Played just one table for fun because of all the graphics and things to watch. However, multi-tabling is quite difficult with this software. Luckily, the player pool is mostly all bad players because the grinders stay away!
Easy bonus :)

This really workd!

Posted Dec 27, 2007 by Peeri66

The software wasn't slow at all compared what i was expected. Games were soft and easy and sometimes pretty wild also. You really can read your opponent slightly better than in other networks. However, playing more than one table is almost impossible due the software gets really slow and you aren't able to focus your opponents so well. Bonus was also pretty easy to clear and I enjoyed PKR. It was very addicting, so be careful!!

My PKR Review!

This site is awesome! The character avatars have funny animations, they have easiest competition ever and they offer a very good selection of tables to play at. Thank you PokerSavvy!

My PKR Review!

Posted Dec 04, 2007 by evvk73

I didn't like PKR's 3D software. Although my laptop is quite new, PKR's software was too CPU intensive. It stalled my computer sometimes. The games were slow and multi-tabling was painful. I'm not going to play there anymore.

Something different...

Posted Dec 04, 2007 by gieffe

One thing is true: PKR is the closest you can get to a real poker game. You can choose your character avatar, clothes, hair and even your accent. You can make your character say everything you'd hear at a casino. You can even show only one card when you win a pot if you like. My problem is that if I want to play for real, I go to the casino. When playing online I want all the advantages of the virtual poker room... easy multi-tabling and fast games and you cannot get that at PKR. The games there are slow and multi-tabling is a real pain. The maximum amount of tables you can have open is only three tables anyway. It is worth noting that the bonus clears easily at $100 max buy-in no-limit Hold'em.

My PKR Review!

Posted Nov 29, 2007 by Henk_M

When I first played at PKR I thought it was really funny because of the 3D possibilities. The disadvantage of the 3D animations is that you can easily get distracted. Although the site is really slow and you can't play a lot of hands in an hour, the bonus is easy to clear by playing at heads-up or shorthanded tables. This site brings a new experience to the online poker world and it was worth playing there!

Nice graphics, but took awhile to finish...

Posted Nov 25, 2007 by ZockerLilly

PKR has really nice graphics and you can choose your own 3D avatar. There are not so many fixed-limit players, most people at PKR play no-limit. They have really nice freerolls that you can buy into with your collected PKR points, so it's worth it to play there and collect them!

A different poker room...

Posted Nov 20, 2007 by linlin

Playing poker at PKR is kind of like playing The Sims. On the downside, their games are slow and it's hard to multi-table. Fortunately the players at PKR are not very good. I thought PKR was cool for about an hour, after that it gets annoying because of the slow gameplay.

My PKR Review!

Posted Nov 20, 2007 by Hanesis

This place was totally awesome! Basically, it's great! I played both $50 and $100 max buy-in no-limit Hold'em. Generally, it wasn't like a typical online poker where you play just one basic table because the 3D graphics bring the feel of a real poker room to this game. You can find more "tells" on the other players. 7,500 PKR Points wasn't very difficult to earn. In just one week I earned several hundreds of dollars in profit by only playing about two hours per day.

Just awful...

Posted Nov 07, 2007 by ZockieMcZock

First, I thought playing in 3D could be fun, and it's true... for one or two hours maybe, but after that the slow gameplay, the resource-eating software and the impossibility to multi-table will just annoy you. In addition, the bonus isn't that easy to clear given the fact that you can't really multi-table. PKR gets one star for the fact that most of the players at PKR play so badly that you actually can't avoid winning some money. Don't be afraid to play one or even two limits above your regular games.

Nice for some time...

Posted Nov 07, 2007 by criticus

The first games you play at PKR are funny. The graphics are good, a lot of fish play there and the software works fine. But, as time goes by there are some cons... Slow tables, difficulties multi-tabling and even at the higher limits you will take a lot of bad beats. So, it is not a room to play at for making money, but the bonus is easy to clear.

Easy to clear!

Posted Nov 06, 2007 by ChickenSnake

This bonus was easy to clear. It took about seven days of playing at $0.50/$1 and some $10 Sit'n'Goes. The competition is very fishy and there are a lot of calling stations who pay you very well. The software takes about 800MB of disk space, so downloading the software might take a while.

Great design!

Posted Nov 03, 2007 by Svnson

If you like good animations and graphics PKR has very cool software. The promotion cleared at a moderate pace. The player traffic was not so good, especially if you like to play Omaha as I do.

Easy bonus, stupid players, slow software...

Posted Nov 01, 2007 by Localhorst

PKR's 3D software looks quite nice and has got a lot of nice features. The players are very bad, and because of that the games are very swingy. With a good and tight playing style you should make some money. The points required to clear this bonus are very easy to get.

Best looking software, but has some drawbacks...

Posted Oct 14, 2007 by PNXRMX

I enjoyed playing on this site. The level of play is pretty low, you'll see people insta-calling everything down to the river, even calling all-in holding jack-high with no draw! Of course the software looks good, and of course adds a whole new dimension to the game. There are a few negative points, though. Multi-tabling is near impossible. If you have a large screen, you could maybe play on a different site at the same time, though. Also, the action is pretty slow. If you're a casual player, and don't mind playing only one table, which moves slowly, then PKR is a definite "Yes!"

Funny room!

Posted Oct 12, 2007 by LeeSue

I played there just for fun and I recommend this room for all players on tilt. But, I can't play a more than one table cause you can only have one window open and you must change between tables within that one window.

What a joke...

Posted Oct 01, 2007 by justu111

This site must be a joke. With all the CPU eating graphics it doesn't even look good. Players are poor, but the software spoils all the fun for me. Their bonus is not that easy to play through at the micro limits, but it gets a lot easier if you're playing $100 max buy-in no-limit or above. Also, loose-aggressive play is rewarded greatly when playing at PKR.

Annoying...

Posted Sep 30, 2007 by nelkku

At PKR you can't really multi-table because of the fancy 3D graphics, and the pace of the game is awful. I gave it two stars only because of the fish you'll find there.

Slow and complicated...

Posted Sep 22, 2007 by Jinou

Easy bonus, and the software looks nice, though the 3D feature slows the action down. Multi-tabling is pure torture since you can only see one table at a time.

My PKR Review!

Posted Sep 21, 2007 by subandi

This was a way better bonus than I expected. The gameplay is not as slow as I read on other reviews as you can turn off the animations, chip tricks, "yeehaws", etc. This is what most players do. The games are soft, the players tend to call down with anything, which makes the play a little wild. There are enough tables around, but the action is almost always only 6-handed. Sometimes they have special promotions, once they doubled the amount of PKR Points you earn while playing for the weekend, which was nice. PKR only gets 3 stars from me because I didn't like the gameplay.

Good fun, but slow...

Posted Sep 18, 2007 by Trillium7

PKR has cool 3D effects with animated avatars. Their player traffic is light and mainly consists of no-limit Hold'em players. The animation is good fun, but because of this hands play slowly. It runs best with an up-to-date computer. No problems with the cashier!

Hate it or love it!

Posted Sep 17, 2007 by ALEX78

PKR is a new poker platform to play online poker in 3D. You have to download a big software package, so a fast internet connection is necessary. The software has a lot of gimmicks, you can create an avatar that looks like yourself and you can dress your avatar however you like. At the tables you can emote to the other players behaviors such as laughing, congratulations, clapping and others. That can be very funny! You can choose a lot of camera positions to get a better view of the poker table, it seems like your playing on television! The only disadvantage is that the game speed is very slow, nearly like a real life poker game. At PKR you can play Texas Hold'em and Omaha Poker cash games, Sit'n'Goes and multi-table tournaments from low to high stakes. There are also some freerolls like every poker room. For your earned PKR Points you can play some extra freerolls that require PKR points to buy-in. PKR is very interesting and every online poker player should have a look at!

Good and Interesting!

Posted Sep 05, 2007 by mimicmimic

PKR was an interesting experience with the whole 3D animation, but it doesn't really make too much of a difference in reading your opponents. Also, the site has very little to offer fixed-limit players, it is very difficult to get a limit game going.

Great!

Posted Aug 25, 2007 by Saschathegod

It is really funny to play in 3D. I wouldn't like it all the time, but a few sessions are really fun. The bonus is also quite good!

3-Dimensional Fish!

Posted Aug 16, 2007 by Gabethebabe

PKR has the best graphics in the industry and this attracts another kind of player. So, you are likely to find PKR to be a worthwhile place to play. A big downside of their software is that multi-tabling is quite hard. All the time you are looking at your down cards. I managed to fold pocket aces pre-flop once after a tiny distraction, I had to tend to four tables at the same time and made it too late for one of them. Of course it was the table where I picked up those bullets. Oh well, it probably saved me from getting sucked-out on! Anyway, that's why PKR doesn't deserve the full five stars. I finished the SavvyPoints bonus after playing 2,000 hands at $50 max buy-in no-limit Hold'em.

Easy to grind...

Posted Aug 09, 2007 by binks

Nice place and it was nice to play with 'real people'. This is a pretty easy bonus to clear, I finished it in about 3 hours playing $0.50/$1 no-limit Hold'em. Thanks for the nice bonus!

3D Craziness!

Posted Aug 07, 2007 by zuke74

I didn't personally like PKR's 3D graphics, might be because right now I don't have too good of a computer. But, if you like 'The Sims', you might enjoy PKR. There wasn't much action and I played through the SavvyPoints bonus mostly through Sit'n'Go tournaments. The required PKR Points gather up pretty fast!

Great Software!

Posted Jul 31, 2007 by altocampo

PKR is a completely different poker experience. Great animated software and a lot of laughing, cursing and whatever going on at the table. Great avatars! You can dress them, tattoo them, etc. Great fun!

My PKR Review!

Posted Jul 25, 2007 by sophielapin

Their software is horrible, slow, and uses up a lot of system resources. The bonus is calculated using contributed raked hands, and the opponents you'll face are gamblers. I did not like the 3-D view.
