Pocket 8's video

Chris,

As always great video, thanks. You mentioned in the video that several players bet into you after you had raised preflop. You said that you did not understand why they do that and it is not something that you do. I would imagine that if it were reversed you would check raise if you hit the flop?

True.

Hi Mike, Glad you enjoyed

Hi Mike,
Glad you enjoyed the video. You are correct about my comment about betting out. When my opponent has initiative (put in the last aggressive action), I generally check raise or check call. It takes a very specific type of opponent for me to bet out, it needs to be someone that does not continuation bet when they miss. On the turn, betting out makes more sense since more players will check behind at that point, especially if a scare card hits. Hopefully that comment makes a bit more sense now, let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks, I understand the

Thanks, I understand the strategy. I will bet out on some boards if I think that the PFR will not bet as you said. In a multi-way pot I might lead in the hopes that he will 3-bet me. It depends on the number of players and my position. Usually I am defending my blinds and OOP. My strategies are more geared to mid-limits but I play low limit so I need to gear down to match the game. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page and it sounds like we are.

great work

just wanted to add my 2 cents. i really enjoyed this video. when you see the same starting hand over and over in different situations it think it's easier to understand the concepts your trying to teach. GREAT JOB, can't wait for the next one.

Hi Chris

I really like your videos, especially this one, where the decisionmaking is a little bit harder. Keep them comingSmile.

When do you leave a table, when you have doubled (ot tribledWink) the amount that you took to the table or is it timebased?

If you liked the pocket eights vid you will really like the upcoming series on attacking and defending blinds.

The decision to leave a table has nothing to do with how much I am up or down.  Factors like the softness of the game and my ability to play well are much more important.  If I am tired or bored I go do something else.
