At ~7:30 on bottom table you check 'fold' w/ 33 from UTG+2 8-handed. Why aren't you opening there? There are some re-shovey stacks behind, but the blinds both have decently large stacks and will be folding to your open a ton.

SirWatts #13: WCOOP and More - Part 2

It's obviously not unreasonable to open there, but like you said with some reshove stacks behind I just don't think 33 is a strong enough hand to open there as a default. It's a nitpicky thing where you have to draw the line somewhere, and I personally probably only open 55+ there as a default. Obviously the difference between 55 and 33 isn't all that big so opening 33 can at worst be a small mistake, and there are plenty of situational factors that would make me open 33 there but just not as a default. that being said I think a lot of people overvalue the small pairs in general.

SirWatts #13: WCOOP and More - Part 2

I agree the actual value of that hand in that spot isn't very good. I tend to use small pairs as a means of keeping my opening range from being too narrow in E-MP. Though I suppose you can do the same by just opening more high-card hands, which with these stack depths do usually have more value.

Also, I wouldn't have even thought it a notable fold 9 handed, or from UTG, UTG+1. So yeah, I don't think it's a huge, clear open or anything. Just close.

ur discussion of why u hate ur double barrell is mmm mmm good. very interesting how you can assign pin point ranges to villans because of their stack size

About 20mins in on the WCOOP vid, you 4bet shoved JJ pre with 40BB effective stacks... effective M was about 15. Is this standard?

btw 1st post! is 1 a palindrome?
