TRD23 grabs the ol'e magnifying glass and takes a close look at what becoming a 'Thinking TAG' is all about. Join TRD23 as he teaches you everything you need to know about conducting a post-session analysis, and how to construct hand ranges for different player types. Once you figure out how each player type plays, beating them becomes 'Elementary, My Dear Watson.'
Video Description
In Part 1 - TRD23 teaches you how to conduct a post-session hand analysis. Josh goes over note taking, hand ranges, and developing reads based on your opponents play. Like a detective - we must learn to break down our opponents game if we want to outsmart them.

i think that this was pretty usefull, esspecially all combined togheather, from your observation over your notes to your actions(thanks for paying off the guy with boat, proving that all you noted about that player, was more then correct, even it was obviusly that he had monster in that spot)and i honestly hope for some more videos as this was,it was really interesting,i really ENJOY!!!
and i am a begginer,so my vote will always goes to this type of video, rather than multitabling, where is so many spots, that you cant catch all...and take so many usefull notes,as you did...
KEEP UP WITH GOOD WORK;)

Yet another great video...It is great to see the post session review and hand analysis. Due to the teachings at PokerSavvy I have recently myself gone back and done session reviews recently after playing, and it has helped me considerably. I will make a better effort to take addional opponents as well. I take good notes while at the table, but after watching this video, it was great how you were note taking for your opponents. In the level I play 5NL and 10NL you don't come across as many regs, but if you do, they are typically the TAG players, but they too have leaks I can identify. Thanks again PokerSavvy.

sup TRD cool vid.
As of lately I have been purely working on my hand reading, I'm trying all I can to improve that area of my game-perhaps you can help me out with it-
Around the 28 min mark board of 43J5 fish was PFR and checks back with A6- you then say he made a bad/terrible bluff. I want to know what your thought process was for concluding that.
I just thought it was possible line to check back a set on such a board, call turn and wait for any river to raise it up. I thought the board was not that scary, and actually if I was in the fish's shoes and villain was a spazz monkey I might take similar 'inducing' lines myself with a made hand.

Its a terrible spot for chapichapo30 to bluff as his opponent has shown a ton of strength - potting turn and river, especially as the river is an overcard to the board - so a bluff by his opponent is unlikely - therefore he is not going to fold to a minraise.
Its not a bad line to take with a set, because you are going to get called a lot by your opponent - thats what makes it a bad bluff but a great value raise.

the intro and outro made me smile

HAHA I am glad someone likes it, I sit there laughing hysterically whenever I make these intros.
One day I might actually learn how to make animated titles, but in the meantime everyone can enjoy my goofy music haha.

Hey TRD,
Great video. I just have a question about HEM. Is there a way to filter the hands in a session by "saw showdown" for other players? Not just pots that you yourself have gone to showdown in. I was playing around and couldn't figure it out. Think it would be really beneficial for note taking and a lot quicker than going through an entire session again with hands where we don't get to see someone's hole cards.

Unfortunately you can not filter for that as far as I know.
What you can do however, is just use the hands tab and quickly flick through that - there you can normally get a pretty good feel for which hands went to showdown.
Something that is worth noting (and I hope it came through clear in the series) is that this is not my normal note taking method - I think adding in notes at the end of the session is good to get you comfortable with note taking - but as a general rule it should normally be only something that you do while playing.

You can do this I think. In HEM where your name is change it to the villains name you want to look through and in the sessions screen or hands screen you can select only known hole cards or something and it only shows you hands where villains cards were shown
