Andrew Brokos
Bio

Andrew "Foucault" Brokos is well known for his knowledge of the game. The self proclaimed "Poker Philosopher" has earned the respect of his peers, and is regarded as one of the most intellectual and well rounded poker players online.

His experiences in the $5/$10 to $25/$50 NLHE cash games provide plenty of fodder for his highly regarded poker writing and coaching. His innovative teaching style, informed by his work in urban public education, blends big picture strategy with detailed hand analysis and color commentary.

Foucault has coached dozens of students in a variety of stakes and gametypes, and has helped convert struggling small stakes players into big time winners mid and high stakes winners.
Coaching Program

Do you want to gain better insight into your own play? Want to step up your game to the next level, increase your hourly rate, learn how to choose games better, or just be a more thoughtful player?

It might be time to consider hiring a poker coach.

While coaching may seem expensive at first, it is a wise investment in improving your game. I’ve yet to have a student fail to make back their coaching fees in a matter of weeks with their newfound skill and confidence. The lessons are designed to run very efficiently and there’s a lot of content packed into every session, ensuring you a ton of value for your money.

Why choose me?

In addition to my depth of knowledge of poker concepts and strategy, I have a background in teaching. As a debate coach, events facilitator, and non-profit entrepreneur, I have learned a variety of ways to help others learn quickly and effectively.

What type of students am I taking on?

I generally aim to work with students for 5-10 hours over the course of a few weeks to best build on the new concepts we discuss.

I can tailor a program to fit the needs of a large variety of players. I have focused lately on working with cash game players currently playing smaller stakes (50NL-400NL) who want to transition into bigger games. I can help you think about your game in a new way, identify leaks, and deal with the tough spots with which the more difficult opponents at higher stakes will surely confront you.

But if you’re looking for something else and think I can help, please contact me for a free consultation to see if my coaching could be the key to taking your game to the next level. If I’m not the right coach for you I’ll likely be able to recommend a colleague would be a better fit.

OK, so how much does it cost?

Individual Lesson: $250/hour
Small Group Lesson: $100/student/hour (no more than 4 students)

How do lessons work?

Lessons are conducted online, and you’ll need to have a headset with a microphone and a reliable internet connection. You may need to install a simple, free, internet based software, but I’ll walk you through that when you sign up.

Sign me up — OK, or at least, I’m kinda interested!
Email me: andrew@thinkingpoker.net, and tell me a little about yourself, what you currently play, and what your goals are. Of course I’m happy to answer any questions as well.
