Daily Poker Quiz: Extracting Value with Top Set

pokerquiz

The Situation: You are playing $1/2NL Hold 'Em 6-Max online and a decent loose aggressive player with $350 behind opens in the cutoff to $8.

You find 7d 7c on the button and decide to call, also with $350 behind.

The BB also calls and 3 players see a flop of 7s2h5d.

The BB checks and the CO bets out $25. With $50 in the pot, the action is on you. How do you extract the most value out of this situation?

A) Call, with the intention of betting/raising the turn.
B) Raise small
C) Raise big to about $90
D) Other

We're testing out the poll feature above, but feel free to use the comment button below to tell us why you'd play the hand that way. Have a great idea for a poker quiz? Submit it to us here

Slowplaying such a hand is a pity. So, you should at least raise. How much, is a question of taste and preference, but at least the amount bet by the cutoff.
In subsequent rounds, the pot will grow really fast anyway, so you do not have to worry about having too little in the pot at the end of the hand.
Because you have a set, you have a hand which is disguised (your opponent does not expect yopu to gave a set) and really strong.
Note, that it had been better, to raise pre-flop, but this was not written as such in the assignment.

I would raise small 33$ more than CO to get BB out ofthe game(for possible straight draw) and hope CO calls or bets more.
But thats just me...

There's no possibility for the opponent to have a flush draw. A straight draw could be possible, but that would have been a strange raise in the preflop.
So I think the opponent may have a pocket in his hand. If that's the case, only 2 cards could help him out.
So I would take the risk and slowplay your hand.
I would let him do the betting and just call him until the river comes en then you'll re-raise his bet.
