Summary (Rated 9 out of 10)

Red Star Poker is medium-sized poker room where U.S players are accepted. And that's why you can be sure that you'll get the action you're looking for, no matter what time of day it is. Red Star is a really profitable site if you play short-handed cash games or tournaments. Red Star's graphics, quality of players and software makes it a really nice site to play at!

Almost every popular method for depositing and withdrawing money are available. NETeller, Moneybookers, VISA, MasterCard and many more. If you still can't find the right deposit method for you, just discuss your options with the helpful support provided by Red Star's live chat. Their support team is really helpful and they genuinely seem to want to take care of the players needs.

Game Selection (Rated 6 out of 10)

Red Star provides Limit Hold'em tables with stakes ranging from $0.04/$0.08 to $100/$200, and No-Limit/Pot-Limit tables from $0.02/$0.04 to $50/$100. There are always 5+ No-Limit Hold'em tables (per stake) up to $2/$4 open at any given time.

Omaha and Stud games are not very popular at Red Star. The most popular game is low-stakes, short-handed No-Limit Hold'em, you'll usually find at least ten open tables. There are also lots of good tournaments at Red Star, especially the loyalty tournaments (buy-in with gold chips and gold cards.) Red Star's daily $20k guaranteed, weekly $100k guaranteed and monthly $250k guaranteed tournaments are all really good and the quality of players is not really that great, even in the $250k tournament!

Quality of Players (Rated 5 out of 10)

Red Star offers you a chance to play with really bad players. U.S. players are accepted so most of the players at Red Star are American with a minority of Scandinavian tight-aggressive players. You should notice a difference compared to the sites where only European people are playing their usual tight-aggressive style of play.

Players at Red Star tend to be loose-passive and loose-aggressive for the most part. There are hardly any tight-aggressive players. There is a lot of fish and hardly any really good players at lower stakes tables. Just play ABC-poker and you'll make a nice profit against these types of players. The best tables at Red Star are their No-Limit Hold'em games, but you will also find lot of fish at the Omaha tables despite there being less overall players.

If when choosing a poker room your main concern is finding easy competition, then Red Star is the place for you.

Software (Rated 10 out of 10)

The Cake Poker Network has one of the best software solutions in online poker. Multi-tabling is easy. You get just enough time to make your hard decisions, but not too much. There are no disconnect protections so you cant get cheated. Checking hand histories is really easy. Tables are re-sizable. The cashier and your player point stats are instantly updated so you'll be able to see your bonus and cash amounts instantly. The lobby design is nice. I really can't say I found anything bad about the software.

Graphics (Rated 9 out of 10)

The graphics at Red Star are just fine. There are two different green backgrounds that you can choose from. Both look very nice with smooth colors. There are also some cool avatars but unfortunately you don't get to choose your avatar, you are assigned one automatically when you sit down at a table. If don't like to use avatars, you can just disable them from the software settings. You can also change the color of the cards and chips. When you are playing at Red Star it feels like you would when playing at a real table because graphics are so realistic.

Profitability (Rated 10 out of 10)

Undoubtedly this is one of the most profitable sites in all of online poker. Their bonus is great, and when combined with the weak competition we're talking about some serious opportunities to grow your bankroll. Their Gold Card and Gold Chip promotions are also great and will add to the value you get out of playing at Red Star. You can use these to buy into satellite tournaments and win seats into the big $250k Guaranteed tournament. Certainly you'll need a lot of patience and big bankroll to make real profit here. When you put it all together it adds up to loads of money waiting for you at Red Star Poker!
