We have detected that you are based in the United States. Unfortunately, due to the vague and uncertain legal and regulatory environment in the United States, PokerSavvy does not allow United States residents to sign up for SavvyPoints or rakeback offers at real money poker rooms. We regret that we need to do this and hope that the US government will soon clarify the law and create a framework that allows US-based poker players to play the game they love safely and openly. We encourage you to contact your Congressperson to express your view that poker is not, and should not, be illegal and we encourage you to support candidates at all levels that share that view.

In the meantime, we welcome you to check out PokerSavvy Plus, our poker training product that is fully accessible to United States residents. Thanks for your understanding.

Qd Jd -- Late position

Pre-flop You called two bets from the button and saw the flop with 4 others. The flop is an absolute dream: Qs Jc Js. An early position player bets and a middle position player calls. What factors do you consider?

  • Cards: It doesn't get much better than this. You've flopped a full house -- an absolute monster.
  • Action: Not only do you have a monster, but someone is betting into you.
  • Odds: Who cares about odds? You have a made hand.
  • Other player's holdings: It's hard to know what others have here, but you might guess something like J-T or maybe A-Q.

Your move: Call. This is one of the rare occassions when you don't want to show aggression with the best hand. You should be very happy to let the bettor think he has the best hand. If he bets again on the turn (when the bets are twice as big), you can raise him there. But this is a time when slowplaying is the best option.

Remember: slowplay very, very rarely. At sites like Party Poker, players at low limits will call raises even on the most unlikely draws. So raise when you have a good hand -- they'll call.
