I Texas hold'em kan vi göra antaganden som tillåter oss att räkna ut oddsen för att dra ett kort och få en vinnande hand. Låt oss anta att du sitter på Jh-Th i en pott med 6 spelare inblandade. Många spelare gillar att spela J-T i samma färg tack vare det stora antal stegar och färger de kan skapa.

Säg att du spelar $5-$10 limit hold'em hos Party Poker. Inga höjningar preflop. En limpare och båda blindsen ser floppen, så det ligger $30 i potten.

Du ser floppen: Ak Kh 3h

För att räkna ut oddsen för att sätta din hand på nästa kort (turn) behöver du först räkna dina outs -- det antal kort som hjälper dig. Hur många outs har du? Antag att med 6 spelare i potten har åtminstone en av dem ett ess eller en kung, så du drar inte efter en knekt eller tia, som skulle ge dig ett mindre par. Antag också att om du träffar färgen har du en vinnande hand -- ingen annan har en högre färg. Även om dessa antaganden inte alltid är korrekta måste du göra några gissningar för att kunna räkna ut dina pottodds.
