My first big cash - Thanks PokerSavvy!

Hi guys

This is a bit of a brag post but I came away with 6th place on Full Tilt's $28000 guarantee (24 + 2 buy in) for $1365! What really helped me was the topics covered on stealing and what sort of marginal hand I can use to qualify as a stealing hand. Also, I think it was Foucalt's video on his recap of the 2008 WSOP Main event that really helped my play. But the most important aspect that dramatically improved my game was 3 and 4-betting preflop. During the whole tournament, I never once had a flush or straight. I hit a set once, had quads once, but all the rest were either won preflop/1 pair/2 pair. So thanks PokerSavvy!

Also, how sick is this hand. This was my one great escape of the whole tournament.

28 people left - I am 27th with 4.5 Big blinds.

I have Q8 off suit in the BB. Guy in middle position min raises, and everyone folds. With all the antes and money I had already invested, I shove. He calls with AQ o/s (I get a sick feeling).

Flop comes A104 rainbow. I think thats my day done.

Turn is 9

River J for the straight!

The guy with the AQ went sick. He was not a happy chappy! I looked at the odds. I was approximately 2% to win after the flop. That good fortune earned me an extra $1280. I think I believe in the poker gods!

Thanks again PokerSavvy

Yep wookstar is my screen name. On the final table my A10 suited vs A8 o/s didn't hold up.
