PLO 50 hand

Got in the largest online pot in my poker career today, and trying to figure out if it was just a cooler or should have played it differently.  Opponent seems to be a regular at PLO 50 (playing 6 tables), and seems solid.  Has called pretty frequently on button when I raise utg, but nothing really out of line.  I also continuation quite a bit depending on how much I hit it and the flop texture (4.5 has been my standard cont bet with this pot size whether I have something or am bluffing).

The only thing I think might have done differently is to just call the flop, and I would think bet out when I hit on the turn. (can I go for a check-raise on turn with the K turn, or am I correct it'll probably scare him that I may have exactly what I do and just be giving him a free card? Actually interested to hear the answer to this question even if bombing it on the flop was right.)   Any comments on the play is appreciated, still rather new to PLO.

Oh. Grinning Buddha. He's a 2+2er, and he's probably the most famous lowstakes player in the pokerworld. He's one of the Supernova Highway guys on the 2+2 Pokercast or whatever. You should've noted that you're 200 BBs deep, btw.

When he pots the flop there, I'm pretty sure he's got what you got, a set or two pair. Looking at equities and stuff, calling flop looks like an okay line. I think you can call flop, and lead on cards where you hit a flushdraw. Obviously, if he has top two or QQ/JJ, he's gonna ship over you and you're getting odds to call, but if he has a draw, he won't be too happy. This might increase fold equity. Not too sure though. No matter if you call flop, you'll be getting 2-1 on the turn, and you're a 2-1 dog so you're gonna have to call regardless of the turn. Playing it slow like this might decrease your variance, but I'm not so sure it's the best line.

If we assume there's no folding equity, then calling is clearly the best play. However, we have incomplete information. I think 3betting the flop is fairly standard, because he might fold QJxx with a gutshot and no backdoors or something. You have two backdoor flushdraws, and they make this more of a push than a call imo. You're 55/45 vs top set. Add some folding equity to the 3bet and, voilá - you're a favorite.

You played the hand fine, and you can write it off as a cooler. (:

Interesting spot and a good comment, although I think with 200BB deep, it is a clear call. I may raise, if it would have been a 3bet pot.

i just think its a hard spot, and as said above, more of a cooler than anything. With a hand and flop like that, i like to pull a layne flack and check call. But either way 8 times out 10 you have to go with your hand.

But anytime in Omaha when the flush is present, more times than not it hit someone, but you played it well, just cooler
