Summary (Rated 7 out of 10)

Ultimate Bet is one of the most well known online poker rooms out there! If playing alongside Poker Superstar Phil Hellmuth isn't enough, you can have fun in games as small as $.01/$.02! Ultimate Bet offers great deposit bonuses for new players, great software for multi-tabling, and tons of free-rolls and low-buyin tournaments.

Players may only clear this bonus by playing in 'Ring Games' and earning Raked Hands

Game Selection (Rated 5 out of 10)

Limit games are spread with tables stakes ranging from the penny stakes (literally) to $200/$400. The higher stakes games are rarely ever running. Most of the traffic makes it way to their no-limit tables. No-limit stakes can also be found from the penny stakes to $50/$100. However, even the mid-stakes tables are barren. Most of the games are $0.50/$1 and below. Full ring tables are favored at the penny stakes, but 6-max is the game of choice for the low-stakes. Pot-limit is simply dead on UB. Omaha, O8, and 7-stud games are also rare. The majority of these games are played by those bored of Hold 'em. However, these games are also for insignificant money. Heads-up and kill tables are also available to players. Tournament traffic fares better. However, SNG traffic is just as weak as the cash games in terms of traffic. Buy-ins range from $0.50 to $5,000. Once again, the higher buy-ins are rarely filled. Turbo, Ultra Turbo, 6-handed and multi-table SNGs are also available. MTTs are where UB seems to be the liveliest. Buy-ins start from $1 up to $500. The upper range being satellites to their featured live tournament, the Aruba Poker Classic. UB offers various guaranteed tournaments. However, the buy-ins are often higher compared to equal prize pools from other sites. Their "Sunday Major" is the $200 buy-in $200k guaranteed.

Quality of Players (Rated 8 out of 10)

The cash games are filled with fish. The problem is actually finding a game to sit in. Tournaments are generally weak as well, with television ads serving to bring in recreational players.

Software (Rated 8 out of 10)

Software has always been one of UB's strong suits. The software and gameplay are very fast. Even when multi-tabling, the software is relatively lightweight on your system. UB offers their "find a player" function through a program called "Ultimate Buddy." You can use this to follow the fish or just watch your friends. Their implementation of re-sizable tables is hit and miss. You can choose from 2 sizes: Regular (your standard-sized table) and Mini (which is roughly 1/4 the height of the regular table, but the same width). Unfortunately, the tables aren't fully drag-and-drop re-sizable like some of the larger sites.

Graphics (Rated 8 out of 10)

The lobby interface is well organized, providing the necessary table statistics. The table experience features customizable backgrounds, four color decks, and the ability to display your accumulated UltimatePoints. The table font is legible and the lack of avatars is a definite plus. You are able to take notes and assign color labels to each opponent easily.

Profitability (Rated 7 out of 10)

Fortunately for the majority of UB players who are at the low-limits, UB has one of the best low-limit rake structures available across the poker networks with a tiered structure dependent on the number of players in a pot and max cap that is respectively lower. For new players, UB offers a 111% deposit bonus up to $1100 with no expiry date. Bonuses are cleared by obtaining UltimatePoints. You earn points dependent on the amount of rake taken from a hand or the tournament fees respectively. For cash games, the bonuses run on a contributed basis. This means that you must put money in the pot (either voluntarily or being in a blind). This clearly favors the short-handed players, where the majority of players are anyway. UB also offers frequent reloads (often once a week). All bonuses are stackable and never expire. UltimatePoints earned can also be redeemed for products in the UltimatePoints store or exchanged for cash. Simply put, UB *could* be very profitable. However, the lack of games (especially mid and high stakes) prevent players from actually ever completing their seemingly endless reloads.

Fairly easy

Raked hands were given out on dealt type and so it was easy to complete. Competition was fairly easy and soft. 8 ½ on school grade

This was quite easy bonus to complete. Lost of players and players were quite loose. I didn't the software.

Poor software

Posted Mar 03, 2008 by Urba

Didin't like their software. You can't check how many raked hands you have accumulated, you must ask it for support. Anyway, was pretty easy to accumulate 300 raked hands at 50NL.

Easy to clear...

The recommendations for this room are good to clear from NL50 up...the players strength is about average, the software ok.
Although there were problems with the tracking, the support from UB tracked me afterwards to Savvy, getting points took about 17 days.

GREAT ROOM!

Posted Feb 20, 2008 by QuidProQuo

I think this is the best room I've ever played at. The software runs great, the bonus is amazing, the competition is pretty good for once! So if you want to get a better poker player. You certainly need to play at Ultimate Bet!

One negative point I found was that playing multiple Limit-tables is almsot impossible cause of the lack of players at Limit tables. No Limit is crowded like hell tho.

I wish you the best of luck getting the SavvyPoints from this room, it's absolutely worth it!

Absolutely great playing spot. I fell in love right a way when after two minutes of playing I doupled up first time. The software is very good and the players are sooo bad. After playing 500+ raked hands I had 5 times the roll I started. The Savvys are easy to get and makeing money is fun.

Ultimate Bet

Ultimate Bet is a moderately sized site that admits American players. It allows money transfers with Absolute Poker but the players are not shared.

The software was reasonable with occasional disconnections. The lobby was badly designed and updates slowly. The game reservation system didn’t seem to function. The cashier worked well and my withdrawal was processed quickly. The poker tables were easy to use and the games proceeded quickly.

There is a large sign-up bonus, which is difficult to clear and not worth pursuing.

The games are moderately loose and fairly aggressive.

In summary, it is a reasonable site but doesn’t really stand out. I prefer Absolute Poker, which has a better lobby and software.

Good site!

This is a pretty good site. There are a ton of fish in all the games I noticed, so take caution. Fun to play here, though.

UltimateBet seems to be quite a nice poker site. Everything worked fine and I always found good games there. The PokerSavvy bonus requirements are easy to complete!

It was really a pleasure to play an easy bonus like this at cool place like UltimateBet. This bonus is easy to clear and worth a good amount of SavvyPoints. Thanks PokerSavvy!

My UltimateBet Review!

The UltimateBet bonus is somewhat easy to clear and the players there are awful. However, it took a very long time to get the SavvyPoints due to matters unknown. Still got them, though!
