The Situation: $2/$4 Full Ring Cash Game at your local casino. You are new to the table and don't have much of a read yet on anyone. You have an average sized stack and your opponent has you covered.

It folds around to you in late position you raise it up to $12 with 8c 8d.

The Big Blind calls and you see a flop of 8c9h7s. He checks to you and you continuation bet for $20. He instantly calls.

The turn card is the 7s. He checks again and you decide to check behind.

The river card is the Qd, counterfeiting your pair. Your opponent checks again.

Do you bluff at the pot or check behind and give up?

If you know your opponent is good you just gave up this hand, he knows that you dont have 9 because of that check on turn. You also know that your opponent is likely on a draw because of check-calling. You only profit when you bet and opponent folds hands like JT or T8.
